How profitable would it be to simply blow the b*****ds out of the water?

High time all ships at sea were armed and dangerous to a bunch of hoodlums scurrying around in fishing boats!

The country of Greece is getting ready to fold, default on their national debts yet they set this bad example of paying the pirates which will give more incentive for more ships to be taken. Bad move. It's painfully obvious Somalia will need to be re-invaded at some point and clean house.
It won't happen in the current watch but hopefully later something will be done.

Are you saying that the US should invade Somalia in the future ?

Sounded like it to me.

Good Lord... (don't we have enough on our hands trying to stabilize Iraq and ****holeistan?...)

The first time we did it it was under the UN but the US as always provided the bulk of things including centralized command. That operation was largely successful until it was scaled back then we launched the ill fated Task Force Ranger Op which afterwards, the plug was pulled. You can bet, it is highly unlikely anyone else is going to lift a finger to deal with this problem.
