German government warns against using MS Explorer.
The German government has warned web users (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8463516.stm) to find an alternative browser to Internet Explorer to protect security.

Wow - they are right on top of things - how long has that been suggested before now? Maybe they could suggest keeping your software updated with patches. Maybe they can also suggest buying a Mac, since there aren't many virii for them yet.
No other suggestions to draw the ire of the hackers? No Firefox, Safari, Opera, or just scrapping everything and going to Ubuntu or Linux?

The German government, if it cares for the welfare of its citizens, should just tell people to use something else than Internet Explorer on general principles as there just are better alternatives out there.
Happy Opera user here (so much faster than IE!)

I haven't used IE in a while but Firefox amongst other browsers have been hit with tons of exploits as well.
