Oklahoma City has a record snowfall of 11.5 inches today!!! For those that do not understand how significant that is, we get a white Christmas 3% of the time and almost never get about 6 inches of snow in the central part of the state. Add in the high winds and we are having a freaking blizzard.

Someone PLEASE turn up the global warming. :D

No you may not have heat or GW. Snow is beautiful and its temps are nice and refreshing. Welcome to the Global Cooling Cycle of Earth:beach3:.

Screw global cooling, I want heat!!!

And just FYI, if you are a male over 50 and do the splits in a snow drift, the neighbors may think a pack of coyotes is passing through from the noises you make. :unhappy:

:D Nice saying. But up here all over 50 are busy with Skiing, Ice Skating and snow shoeing and Ice Fishing. Im thinkin of strapping a big stainless steel dish to my ass and go street sledding on the road ice and onto Slave Lake seeing as traffic is closed for two days:D. Ah Fun fun in the Arctic.

We're just north of you, Rick. Been snowing since mid-afternoon. Supposed to get 12" to 16" before it quits tomorrow afternoon. Currently, have 35 mph winds w/45 mph gusts. They're calling it the "blizzard of 2009". Just a good night for crawling into the sack and allowing Mother Nature to vent her spite.

Someone already has... that's why there is so much moisture in the air.

Ugh - SEND ME SNOW!!

I haven't had a white Christmas since 1996. I'm SICK of this.

What's the weather today? High in the low 40s and windy as hell. I'm SOOOOO PISSED.

Grand official total 14.1 inches!!! Has broken several records including most snowfall in a 24 hour period, most from a single storm, etc, etc.

Looks like I pulled a muscle but it is easing up so I am staying inside today and will start shoveling tomorrow. ( Oh freaking joy!!! )

Carefull with the shoveling, old boy. I dug myself out last saturday here in Maryland and my back protested for four days afterwards. Short duration (10-15 min. at a time) is best to help keep muscles from cramping or spasms later. . . Rest the back between sessions.

Better yet - pay a teenager to do it !! After all, what else are they for ?

;)

PS: HAVE A GREAT AND FUN CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!

You see, Cyber - we live in a world of contradictions. We normal people who don't want snow are up to our asses in it and you oddballs who want snow don't get any.

This is the way it is now on Earth. Abuse, hardship and deprivation run rampant throughout the Kingdom of Mankind. Just be glad you weren't born a weasel.

I cheated and started doing a little shoveling today since there is so damn much of it. 2 foot snow drifts in my driveway for starters, but yea a little at a time. I thought about hiring a teenager to do it, but 1 they are all busy doing their own drives, and 2 when they get done there we do have some seniors around that will need help.

Anyone got a flamethrower I can borrow??? :D

Shoveled our own drive this morning. Pretty well pooped this old man out! No more than got sat back down and the phone rings. An elderly couple we look after "hinted" they needed their drive cleaned. My wife told them there was no place to go. It's Christmas. Yet, these 80+ year olds seemed to think they could not make it through the day with a driveway full of snow.

So, after lunch, my wife took some fresh baked bannana nut bread... and her gracious husband with his snow shovel... over to help them out. The snow had drifted quite high in front of their garage door. But, an hour later, I had the driveway where it "passed inspection" and they could get a car out if there was an emergency.

On the way home, I told her we were going to buy a snowblower before next year... give it to the son-in-law... with the caveat that he would clean our drive and the older couple's drive before his each time it snowed. I could tell from the look on my wife's face something was amiss. Asked her what the strange look was about. She said, "You don't want to know what *** (the elderly gentleman) told me as we were leaving. He says they have a fairly new snowblower in the garage. But, his wife didn't want me to know because she doesn't want anyone starting it inside the garage and stinking the place up!!" I had shoveled an hour... and a barely used snowblower was sitting on the other side of the garage door!!!!!!!!!

Rick...you have my sympathy's friend.
14+ inches in Oklahoma is MAJOR snowfall...
I remember on the road 4 or 5 inches would REALLY cause trouble....
KS is them same...;)
Up here we would pretty much brush 14" off...:p ,but I already had the blower out and running since the 17" we got on the 9th
Here in WI they were originally calling for 10 to 16 inches but we ended up getting 90% rain so far...That's actually a little worse come tomorrow when we drop below freezing again...As I write this it is 5 degrees warmer than you are.....
The thing that pisses me of is this is gonna really raise hell with the local ice fishing for awhile....Too damn much water is pushing what ice we do have up and weakening the 7" of ice we had before....The fishing was just getting HOT!
Well off I go...Time to finish off the sirloin roast and get the shrimp ready, mix up a couple of martini's..............
Merry Christmas everybody...and to all a good night..... :D

Anybody have that stop global warming pic? The one of the sign buried in snow.

And yes we just went and shoveled an elderly friends drive too. That just had to go to Denny's to eat and could not get out.

Tell them to go to Perkins instead. Perkins has the waitresses that Tiger Woods likes better!! Oh! Guess the elderly were probably goin' for a different "nourishment" than Tiger was!!:laugh:
