I thought this was pretty good too! Unless the French ship was disguised, how could you ever mistake a warship for a civilian vessel ??

Why not just shoot 'em up, why chase them around and go to the effort of capture - for them to just be released by the Somali government. . . ?

Seems like an armed pirate should be fair game for gunnery practice, but, that's just me. . .

I believe that during WW1 the British Navy actually sent out armed decoy transports to lure U-boats in for the kill. Since most U-boat attacks then were on the surface, they would see a big transport, surface and move in for the kill. British crews would drop the camo around the deck guns and fire away.

Why couldn't this be done with the pirates of today?

Because the "morality" of the leftist liberals wouldn't allow for it ... being as everyone is supposed to have a fair chance at living. All of us being equal of course ...

So to actually lure in a pirate or two under the guise of a helpless civiy ship and then blow their asses out of the water would be repugnant to certain leftist morons ... who would ultimately make a big stink out of the whole issue.
