Doesn't a Christmas tree itself represent religion? They should not even put up a tree at the White House or any other govenment facility. In fact, Christmas should not be a legal holiday to begin with. It is all based on the birth of Jesus. Oops, I forgot that Xmas is all about the man in the funny red suit that showers good little boys and girls with presents. Silly me.

Actually a christmas tree is a pagan symbol. It was "adopted" by the "church" in an effort to sway pagans into "christianity." So for the governments to put up a christmas tree I do not see the conflict of religion vs state ... after all governments are pagan based operations as well so it all goes hand in hand.

Truth be told, christmas is nothing more than a collection of pagan celebrations "adopted" into the one "christianized" holiday.

And I just went to Home Depot this after noon and was overwhelmed by the amount of christmas display crap that was out already. :(

Actually I thought the Federal Government to be more like heathens than pagans.
