Thought this might interest some of you "Obama-ites" (both the fans and the detractors)...

Gee, lets see ... CBC serves how many households? According to its own website (http://www.cbc.radio-canada.ca/about/index.shtml) ... they claim they serve every Canadian household ... what's the current general population of Canada today? According to one source, 33,739,000. Hmmm.
And this article is stating that somewhere around 200 people .... or rather, around 200 complaints were registered ... and whose to say some people didn't call twice or more because the program wasn't immediately suspended and taken off the air when they called the first time?
Hardly anything to worry about.
:horse:
But I like the skit and it brings up some interesting points! ;)

I'm not worried about it, Snuffy; I just thought it was an interesting item.
It is unusual for a program to attract that many calls (most people don't bother), and the program was a French-language broadcast of the CBC which would typically reach only about a quarter of the country's population (or at least those who were actually watching, out of that 8 million or so).

Funny, it was Fox News who started the Obama assassination jokes first, and he wasn't even elected yet.

Kill Bush mania (http://townhall.com/columnists/MichelleMalkin/2006/09/13/kill_bush_mania?page=full&comments=true)
...Meanwhile, our friends in Canada celebrated the screening of a new kill-Bush fictional documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival. "Death of a President," a British mockudrama, is set in the fall of 2007 and looks back at the impact on America after President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago. The 90-minute feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly accused of the crime...
Great, ...eh!

BD raises an outstanding point.

Ah, but that is history, the skit is "what if" and deals with what could happen.
But yes, there is a double-standard, unless there is also criticism of the Film Festival film.

Well I didn't talk about a evil conspiracy, but about the first Obama assassination joke being on Fox News and it's true.

It wasn't a joke and it wasn't directed specifically at Obama. It's the "headline" on the article that is a joke. And her apology to the Kennedy's when there was nothing to apologize for.
Anyway, Nausicaa got it right, for a change. :) ;)
