I have no clue if this has been posted already...BUT DEAR GAWD help us!

I have nothing against President Obama, but this is not right...at least in my eyes, this is just not right......

He is building a cult of personality and while I do not know if it is intentional on his part, it is not something that reassures most people.

I wonder who the artist believes the image will appeal to? I mean I am failing to see the upside for Obama except that as Rick says, it furthers the goal of creating a personality cult around him- whether intentional or not on Obama's part. I can't imagine how he could be so naive as to not connect the dots, though. He's too slick for that.

But if the only people it pisses off are the folks who already dislike him- then politically I do not see a downside at all. After all, the Catholic Church- who religious icon is being desecrated here- don't seem to mind. They still have him scheduled to give the commencement address at Notre Dame this Spring in spite of his beliefs and policies that go against the Churches teachings- WRT Abortion, etc..

I don't think this is a "Mission Accomplished" PR disaster by any stretch for Obama. Not yet anyway.

More like Hugo Chavez to my mind. I think Hitler is stretching things a bit much. As for the PR side, it is going to piss off a lot of religious people even among his supporters.

About the "Mission Accomplished" PR disaster, luckily the only people who thought it was a disaster were the media and the fars. Most of the rest of us either heard or read the speech and know what he was talking about.

After reading the article, I saw no mention that the piece was commissioned by the government. So, if the initiative comes from the artist himself, and no one else, how can you accuse Obama to build a cult of personality? Can somebody clear that up?
