I don't know, but something doesn't ring true in that article. Even at the modern level of genetic manipulation, I don't think a fairly dark skinned/hair/eyed couple (Brazilians) are going to produce blond, blue eyed children. Unless these examples have been the result of artificial insemination with semen from that racial sub-type. I don't believe anyone, including Mengele, had the technology to mechanically alter human genetic material in those years.

Twins in abundance is understandable with a sufficient infusion of fertility drugs to the child-bearing women of a small town willing to participate.

If you read a bit about the subject you will find that they have seen the whole Nazi clique in South America over the decades, from Bormann building routes in Bolivia to Hitler drinking tea in Argentina. The people of Candido Godoi were evidently of German descent, as per this quote from the article.

"He claims that Mengele found refuge in the German enclave of Colonias Unidas, Paraguay, and from there, in 1963, began to make regular trips to another predominantly German community just over the border in Brazil – the farming community of Candido Godoi."

what I remember from my visit of Auschwitz is that Mengele's experiment had no scientific value whatsoever, the protocols of experimentation were largely empirical and subject to many mistakes.
If the guy was still alive and could go on with his "research", chances are that any result would be a product of luck with no scientific significance.
